Democrat Andrew Gilm was charged with only 21 felony counts, facing up to 45 years.

Remember Andrew Gillam, the Obama-backed crackhead candidate for governor of Florida who * almost * defeated Ron Desantis?

Another healthy politician …

Well, he’s in a whole new world of problems and he’s been in prison for 45 years.

The Daily Wire reports that Democrat Andrew Gilm was indicted in federal court on Wednesday on 21 counts related to his 2018 Florida governorate campaign, which he lost to Republican Ron Desantis.

A federal grand jury has returned 21 counts against Florida’s Tallahassee, Florida’s Andrew Demetrich Gilm, 42, and Sharon Janet Letman-Hicks, 53, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida said in a statement.

Guillaume claimed in a statement that he was innocent and that the allegations were political, although he is being prosecuted by the judiciary, which oversees the Biden administration.

“Allegedly, between 2016 and 2019, the defendants conspired to forge Gilam and Letman-Hicks wires, illegally raising funds through false and deceptive promises and representations from various entities and individuals, and the funds would be used for legitimate purposes.” The statement says. The indictment further alleges that the defendants used third parties to transfer part of the funds to a company owned by Letman-Hicks, who then fraudulently provided the funds in disguise to pay Ghulam for his personal use.

“There are 19 counts of wire fraud against both defendants,” the statement added. Guillaume is also accused of making false statements to agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

If convicted, Gillum could face up to five years in prison for making a false statement, up to 20 years in prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and up to 20 years in prison for each charge of wire fraud.

NBC News national political reporter Mark Caputo tweeted that Guillaume surrendered to authorities this morning before the allegations were sealed.

The allegation confirms that the allegations stem from Gillum’s failed campaign against DeSantis, who has become one of the world’s most powerful political forces since winning in 2018.

Wow, Florida really missed a bullet, didn’t it?
